In the late 70's, the Dubard family settled down in the Purple Perigord in order to set up a wine estate, within the Bergerac and Montravel AOC areas. Their cuvees Chateau Laulerie and Domaine du Gouyat have since then achieved a sound reputation.
From 2000, the Dubard family has livened up the Farcies du Pech' wine estate, placed in the Pecharmant AOC area. The restructuring of the vineyards and the cellar lead the wine of Les Farcies du Pech' to become one of the top Bergerac wines.
The castle of Les Farcies du Pech', restored keeping to the XVIIIth century style, welcomes you in luxury bed-and-breakfast in the very heart of Pecharmant vineyards, set on the first hillsides which overlook the old town of Bergerac. Your holiday in Les Farcies du Pech' will invite you to discover not only the Dordogne valley landscapes but also its famous wines and gastronomy.
This intense and deep red wine will form an ideal accompaniment to terrine dishes, roasted poultry, and cheese. Les Farcies du Pech' will be best enjoyed at 18°C. It has the structure to age gracefully for 5 to 15 years.

The 500-ha Pecharmant AOC area is the most ancient vineyard of the Bergerac region, not only regarding its age (dating from the XIth century), but also regarding its reputation and its prosperity.
Laid out in south-facing hillsides, the Pecharmant area is also blessed with a great terroir. The distinctiveness of its terroir lies in the Perigord sand and gravels which derive from the slow transformations of granite rocks. Leached out on the surface, clay and iron were taken in-depth, forming a deep and impermeable ferrugineous-clay layer, which communicates to Pecharmant wines its authentic and typical taste.
Our wine: the Chateau Les Farcies du Pech
Made up of Cabernet Sauvignon (40%), Cabernet Franc (30%) and Merlot (30%), the Chateau Les Farcies du Pech' offers a powerful charm, and intense aromas. Our 10-ha vineyards consists out of 20-year old vines on average. The optimalisation of the leaf area, the rising-sun-side leaf plucking and the limitation of yields to 50 hL/ha favour a good sanitary state of the crop, and an excellent phenolic maturation. The traditional winemaking process is followed by a 12-month ageing in French oak barrels. The Cabernet varieties communicate a complex nose to this wine, where coffee, tobacco, cinnamon and black pepper is harmoniously blended. Ample and well structured, this Pecharmant has already pleasantly loosened up and filled up with time. The palate ends on a firm minerality due to the specific terroir, which gives a lot of personality to this wine.
The Farcies du Pech' castle is located 2 km to the North of the city of Bergerac in the direction of Hameau de Pecharmant. In the peaceful and charming atmosphere of the vineyards, the XVIIIth century castle welcomes you in a luxurious bed-and-breakfast. The eastern front of the building shapes with the cellar a square courtyard typical of the Perigord, whereas its western front opens up an 8 ha-park.
The Farcies du Pech' castle counts 5 luxurious bedrooms with private bathrooms and WC. Each of these 5 bedrooms, furnished (keeping to the XVIIIth century), displays its own personality.
Marie, your hostess, will help you to become familiar with the castle, and will serve you a typical French breakfast in the picturesque kitchen.
